Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was aware that she was gifted for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her initial attempt, she placed second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas to become a professional athlete. Following that, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. In 2007, she won that title, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished in the top three of every event.
